Just like previous launches of things I wanted to buy, I woke up nice and early this morning to make sure that I could get an Apple Watch. Not only did I wake up but I also woke up my wife so she could get one too. I’m not sure if we are going to keep them but we wanted the opportunity to at least get them pretty close to launch day. I’ve read most of the reviews online that were released lately saying that the Watch really wasn’t a must have device but thats not why I wanted to get one. I wanted to get one to see how it would help me as I travel around for work. I also liked the fitness piece about reminding me to get up from my desk and walk around more. I’ve tried setting reminders on my iPhone to try and accomplish the same thing but that didn’t work so hot so maybe this will work instead.
I was surprised my wife got one too but hopefully she can use it for her half marathon training. I was watching some of the videos online on how to use the watch and I think she’ll really like how it syncs up with the watch. I might even buy her some bluetooth headphones for running so she doesn’t have to carry her phone with her while she runs. I probably won’t run like she will but maybe I’ll end up doing something else like riding my bike more.
Another possibility is to sell them on eBay. The Watch seems to be getting decent bids although I don’t expect things to heat up considerably until April 24. Needless to say I’m a little sleepy right now since I woke up early and had a hard time going back to bed. I scheduled a try on at the Aventura Mall tomorrow so I can see what it really looks like. Who knows I might even buy another strap for the thing or I might turn right around and sell it on eBay like a lot of other people;. The fact that it sold out so quick should be pretty telling that people want the Watch even though its a first generation device. I personally have no problems with first generation devices. I still own an Original iPad that my daughter uses. Worse comes to worse, it’ll be come a tech collectors item.
All that remains is the wait…..
